This is a test post. If you’re preparing for knee or hip replacement surgery, knowing what to expect during recovery can make a big difference. Most patients begin walking with assistance within 24 hours of surgery. Physical therapy typically starts the next day and continues for several weeks at home or in an outpatient facility. Pain and swelling are normal in the first few weeks and can be managed with medication and ice. Full recovery varies by individual but generally takes 3 to 6 months.
