I am beyond grateful that Dr. Avino was highly recommended to me. After learning that I would need a bilateral hip replacement due to hip dysplasia I was shocked and nervous. With care, Dr. Avino took his time to thoroughly explain the procedure and patiently listened to all of my questions. Later, when my husband had further questions, he took the time to answer his questions as well! Spencer, Dr. Avino's PA, was very professional and also answered questions with care! Additionally, the team provided further literature and video links for me to learn more about the MAKO robotic surgery that he would be performing which is highly innovative and leads to greater success with recovery. What could have been a very tedious process of submitting paperwork for work leave, scheduling appointments and planning in general was made to be the most efficient and organized process I have ever encountered medically, thanks to Dr. Avino's medical assistant, Heather and surgical coordinator, Jade. Their communication was impeccable and I cannot thank them enough for all of their planning and scheduling leading up to the surgery making a stress-free process!! My actual experience with the surgery was remarkable. I was home that afternoon walking with a walker and able to walk up my stairs that night to sleep in my own bed! I am a week out of surgery and never had to take a narcotic medication and am only taking tylenol as needed! With care, I am currently able to walk on my own. I am so pleased with Dr. Avino and his staff. I will be making my next hip replacement surgery soon with Dr. Avino...with confidence and without nervousness!
